MUSE and Wharton Retail Club are proud to present our 4th annual MARC: Marketing, Advertising, Retail, and Consulting Conference. MARC is the premiere conference at the University of Pennsylvania offering students interested in a variety of industries exclusive career and internship opportunities, historically with an emphasis on marketing and retailing. Companies from all over the country come every year to offer both internship and full time opportunities to undergraduate students. While a good portion of these companies go through On Campus Recruiting (OCR) for these positions, many companies that recruit at MARC only do so through the resume drops at the MARC conference. In addition, many OCR companies that attend MARC do not hold information sessions in the spring and only come to MARC in order to meet students in person, so be sure to take advantage of this great networking opportunity.
Conference Format
MARC is a conference open to all undergraduate students, and completely free of charge. It consists of four main portions:
- Macy's Marketing Case Competition: This is Penn's first ever undergraduate marketing case competition, sponsored by Macy's. Participants who register will have the chance to win a $500 cash prize and the opportunity to present your response to the case prompt before all of the sponsors at the MARC Networking Lunch. This case competition lasts a total of 3 days, with the final rounds occurring the morning of MARC, and awards presented at the Networking Lunch. For more information, visit musepenn.org/mmcc.
- Keynote Speaker: This takes place during the networking lunch component of the conference. Every year, a prominent figure from one of the four industries will come to speak about their strategy and recent initiatives. Last year's keynote speaker was Mark S. Cosby, President and Chief Operating Officer of Macy's East. Registration is required to attend the keynote speech.
- Networking Lunch: This includes a free sit-down lunch and gives students the opportunity to mingle with the company of their choice, by being seated at their table. Registration is required to attend the networking lunch, and space is very limited so be sure to register immediately. Priority for company table preferences will be given to paid MUSE members. If you can no longer attend after registering, please email us immediately so we can give your position to another individual.
- Career Fair: This consists of an open career and internship fair attended by all sponsors, and does not require prior registration to attend. We still highly encourage all attendees to register and submit their resume prior so that it will be included in a resume book given to all sponsors.
Registration
Registration is completely free and required for all components of the conference except for the career fair, but everyone is encouraged to do so and submit their resume to the sponsoring companies. Just press the below "Register" button, submit your information, and you're all set. If you would like to register for the Macy's Marketing Case Competition, please visit musepenn.org/mmcc.
The deadline to register for MARC is Wednesday, 1/21 @ 5PM. Be sure to register early for the networking lunch as space is limited!
