Detailed descriptions of events for corporate partners:
- Marketing and Retail Conference (MARC): MUSE joins with the Wharton Retail Club in early February to put on the largest marketing, advertising, and retail-oriented internship fair at Penn. The day includes a career fair, keynote speaker, and networking lunch. Participating companies must be an event sponsor. Cost: Range from $500 to $1500. Attendance: 250+ members.
- American Marketing Association conference: MUSE sponsors our first-annual marketing conference in November at Wharton for students at Penn and other students from around the east coast. This educational day will feature a wide variety of speaker and panel workshops, networking sessions and potentially case competitions and mini-workshops. Participating companies have the option to send speakers and/or sponsor portions of the event. Cost: Range from $500 to $1200 for sponsorship. Attendance: 250+ students from Penn and other regional schools.
- Shadowing trips: MUSE brings students to NYC and other cities to visit and learn about companies and careers, as well as potentially do a mini job shadow. Participating companies are asked to allow for a half- to full- day presentation. Cost: no fee, potentially provide lunch. Attendance: 10-25 members, depending on capacity, focus on upper-classmen.
- Industry events: MUSE provides learning opportunities for its members throughout the year to learn about careers, types of marketing, and other relevant topics though speakers and panels on a variety of topics. Participating companies sponsor the event through providing speakers and giveaways for participants. Cost: $200 for company branded event; no cost for generic event. Attendance: 50-75 members.
- General Body Meetings: Each general body meeting is combined with a very customizable industry event, such as a speaker, panel, information session, networking event, or internal development event, so that members keep abreast of happenings in the club and in the industry. Participating companies are required to sponsor the meeting and have the option to bring company giveaways. Cost: $150 per event. Attendance: 50-75 members, mix of under- and upper-classmen.
- Alumni networking events: Events such as informal dinners, speed networking, or mingles allow for students to mingle with professionals and break down the professional barrier. Some events will focus on having only young professionals present. Participating companies are encouraged to send employees to the event and have the option to sponsor. Cost: $200 per event to sponsor, no cost to send employees. Attendance: 20-30 members, depending on event and capacity, mix of under- and upper-classmen.
- Joint events: MUSE partners with the MBA Marketing Club, Wharton business fraternities, and other Wharton clubs for a variety of joint speaker and networking events. These events are usually a specialized event. Participating companies can participate through providing speakers, panel members, company paraphernalia, and event sponsorships. Cost: $200, but dependant on event. Attendance: 50-100 members.
- Company information sessions: MUSE can leverage their contacts across Penn’s campus (other Wharton clubs, students in communications and psychology majors, and more) and their huge 800+ member mailing base to advertise company information sessions and events. Cost: $150, or the sponsorship of another event during the year. Attendance: 1000+ Penn student audience.
All events are customizable and negotiable. Please contact Deborah Garber, MUSE President, at deboraj@wharton.upenn.edu or at 307-575-3545 with any inquiries.
